WHY UNIVERSITY OF NORTH DAKOTA

Ignite The Future.

Today, UND is a busy 521-acre campus offering 250+ highly accredited on-campus and online degrees. We've emerged as an innovator in engineering, medicine, aviation and unmanned aircraft systems. Nearly 13,500 students from around the world are enrolled at UND.

UND is right at home in this vibrant college town of more than 55,000 people. Our tight-knit community is the #1 reason U.S. News ranks North Dakota as the state offering the best quality of life. Many cite the people as their favorite thing about Grand Forks. Why are people so friendly? That's easy – no rush hour, welcoming neighborhoods, peaceful surroundings and living freely. Grand Forks is also very safe; consistently ranking among the most secure small cities in America. Our public and private educational systems are some of the best in the country. We provide outstanding educational opportunities for students of all ages and needs.

Our most successful students lead by doing. Join an intramural sports league, debate the latest political issues or go Greek. UND offers over 240 student clubs and organizations, 21 fraternities and sororities, and 17 NCAA Division I athletic teams to be involved in. Everyone is Included. We don’t just embrace diversity, we celebrate it. We value the richness of the different cultures, heritages, perspectives and ideas that each person brings to our campus community.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Hannah Phelps.

Hello! My name is Hannah Phelps and I am the Canadian and international student admissions representative at the University of North Dakota. I grew up in Grand Forks and absolutely love being from North Dakota. I enjoy having all four seasons and the sense of community that is here. The location of Grand Forks is also convenient for travel. I love traveling and have been across the United States, Canada, Italy, France, and to the UK. In 2015 I came to UND for college, earning my Bachelor’s degree in anthropology and classical languages in 2018. I started working for admissions in 2019 and working with Canadian and international students is one of my favorite parts of my job. I love being able to be a part of someone else’s international travel and education and find a lot of fulfillment in helping students through the process of applying to college!
