The Opportunity of Miami

Established in 1925 during the region's famous real estate boom, UM is a major research university engaged in $350 million in research and sponsored program expenditures annually. While the majority of this work is housed at the Miller School of Medicine, investigators conduct hundreds of studies in other areas, including marine science, engineering, education, and psychology. At UM, you'll join a diverse and energized academic community from across the nation and around the world to pursue their passions and set a course for future success. As one of the best research universities in the Americas, we look forward to supporting your mission-driven discoveries with cutting-edge technology, state-of-the-art equipment, and award-winning faculty.

Hi! I’m Amanda Anderson.

I am the Executive Director of Undergraduate Admission at the University of Miami. I am so lucky to have recruited in Canada for nearly a decade, and am delighted to continue to do so with “the U!” I have worked in admission at both private and public institutions, and am well versed in Division I athletics and enrolling Canadian students in such while finding their home at a US university.

Canada ranks in the top 10 countries that sends students to the University of Miami. Our diverse community with more than 180 majors for just 11,000 undergraduate students is extremely appealing to Canadian students. We make every effort to visit Quebec, Montreal, Toronto, Victoria, and Vancouver every year to meet with students and their families who want to see the abundance of academic opportunities we have to offer. Being the hemispheric university at the center of the Americas makes UM a strategic location for our students. We look forward to meeting you during our travels or when you visit our beautiful Coral Gables campus.
